Travel Insurance Rates Rise - But We Have Good News!
Travel Insurance Rates Rise - But we have good news!
We are very happy to pass along some cheer to all our customers - and future clients ...
Here at Travel Insurance Direct are happy to announce that we have no plans to transmit the increasing IPT (Insurance Premium Tax - the insurance equivalent to VAT) to our customers and we are succeeding in the absorption of most further increases in the premium subscribers.
The price of everything related to travel has increased dramatically .... The airport departure tax has increased VAT to about 17.5% to 20%. Everything contributes to an even bigger bite of budgets precious vacation.
Insurers generally have reported that the increase is necessary due to the rising cost of medical claims - and fraudulent claims. Seems to be how the world these days that the actions of the few dishonest means that the rest of us are punished by having to pay more.
Always be careful when choosing a travel insurance policy. Make sure you cover all planned activities have adequate medical coverage, as well as important basic concepts such as emergency medical repatriation, legal expenses and personal liability. For a check, or skiing holiday winter sports including mountain rescue and medical evacuation.
Once your travel insurance policy is hidden in hand luggage and are away on holiday, can be very easy to forget that the insurance does not provide a license to act irresponsibly! In fact, the surest way of thinking is to act as if uninsured.
Many travelers neglect to take out insurance at all, it's crazy, especially when participating in winter sports or other potentially dangerous activities. The expenses that may incur if it goes wrong are astronomical compared to the relatively small cost of travel insurance.
The costs of emergency medical care in many countries can be very high, and uninsured travelers are stuck paying those bills. Contrary to a mistaken belief that they have many, the British consulate does not cover costs.
For an example of how affordable travel insurance can be, our individual travel insurance trip starts from £ 4.19 and our backpacker policies ranging from just 0.29 p per day! For families, or those planning to have more than one trip a year, the multi-annual policy is usually the best travel value. Given the amount of money you are likely to spend a round of drinks and snacks at the airport waiting for your flight, there really is no excuse not to insure your trip! (Think about it ...)
We are promoting and enourage our customers to visit the website of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office travel tips and advice country - as part of its' Know Before You Go campaign. The informed traveler is obviously less likely to break laws and found innocent in difficult situations abroad, which means, of course, a smaller number of travel insurance claims and premiums remain lower for all!
Travel insurance can be offered or provided, along with bank accounts or credit cards, or by several companies. These policies may be suitable for your needs, but be careful with anything that seems too free or cheap ... You get what you pay! More likely is that insurance benefits have been reduced somewhere - perhaps with a higher excess (the amount of a claim is paid) or a lower amount of insurance. The insurance can not cover pre-existing medical conditions to all or only to a limited extent.
Travel insurance can be purchased in a variety of shapes for all tastes, from a single trip, annual multi-trip, with or without ski insurance and the option to add extra coverage, such as golf and equipment office.
The smart way to buy insurance is not just about cost, but to find an established and reliable company that provides the coverage you need at the best price. For a quote, click here.
Stay warm and safe trip!
